Lyme disease can have a lot of complications and terrible effects on my daily living but one of the things that was affected quite a bit was my sensitivity to chemicals. I’ve found that it seems to be a common issue with a lot of fellow Lymies. I can’t tolerate a lot of smells, especially chemicals so I have to find alternatives for cleaning products, perfumes and skin care.
I love essential oils so it’s only natural for me to try to find as many ways as possible to use them. Not only do they smell good, but they have wonderful benefits for our health and mental well being.
Since I can’t use the chemical-laden room sprays to freshen my home, something that has to be done since I have two doggies, I came up with a natural alternative.
Lemongrass and lemon are two of my favorite essential oils, not only for their uplifting and revitalizing properties, but because they smell so fresh and clean. This is a great room spray for the spring time and can be used on furniture, bed linens, dog beds, musty closets, pretty much anywhere that needs a little refresh!
4 drops lemongrass essential oil
8 drops rosemary essential oil
2 drops lemon essential oil
2 ounces distilled or purified water
Add all the oils and water to the spray bottle, shake and it’s ready to use.
Fill your home with the scent of spring!
