In my last few posts I discussed the first four steps to take to create a more healthy lifestyle. Eating an organic diet, drinking a lot of clean water, exercise, deep breathing and positive thinking and now the last and final step in creating a healthy lifestyle is something that I think we would all enjoy.
#5 Detoxify With Massage and Hydrotherapy
Massage is such a delightful part of detoxification. It stimulates lymphatic flow and drainage, enhances circulation, breaks up fatty deposits and cellulite, and promotes an overall feeling of relaxation and well-being. If you are doing an intense detox program, the usual recommendation is one massage a week if you’re able to enhance your detoxification processes.
For myself, I originally incorporated massages into my detox program a few years ago but as I got progressively worse it was something I had to quit unfortunately. I loved the effects of massage and it definitely helped me clear toxins out but with Lyme, your skin and nerves can become very sensitive so it became impossible for me to have someone rubbing my skin for an extended period of time. If you’re in a situation where you can’t do massages, there are other things you can do to replace it. I always recommend dry brushing, infrared saunas and even self-massage. All these practices have wonderful health benefits and offer the same detox results as a massage, just not as intense.
Hydrotherapy is another enjoyable part of detoxing. This ancient method of cleansing includes saunas, steams, herbal and aromatherapy baths. It increases circulation, promotes relaxation, and detoxes through purification. You can alternate hot and cold water during your shower which stimulates your lymphs and enhances oxygen flow. Steam baths and saunas increase your core temperature, promotes perspiration and allows toxins stored deep within tissues to come to the surface for elimination. Saunas are frequently used to detox heavy metals, pesticides and other toxic chemicals. Add some essential oils to your bath or sauna to enhance detoxification and relaxation.
Being consistent with any program is the key to success. These are all things that can be easily done, with little effort and time and will give you noticeable benefits for your overall well-being.
What are some of your favorite healthy living tips? I always love to hear what you all do so I can give it a try too!
I use Milk Thistle, Propolis, Teasel, and Epsom baths for detox and organ protection. Recently added Alka Seltzer Gold as so many have said that’s a great detox too.

I love alka seltzer gold. That was one of the first things recommended to me for herxing and it works wonders. I need to look into Teasel. I’ve heard about it but aren’t too familiar with it.
